Jakobsen: I’m Cavendish I enjoyed watching my Tour de France victory at home

Fabio Jakobsen took a decisive victory today at Nyborg, his first Tour de France race level, and paid tribute to his wonderful chance to participate in his post-race press conference.

Jakobsen described being left behind the wheel of Wout van Aert through teammate QuickStep-AlphaVinyl and leader Michael Mørkøv, before making physical contact with Peter Sagan in the last few hundred metres.

Both controlled to ride comfortably before Jakobsen took victory in Van Aert’s sprint, with Mads Pedersen in third place. “It’s the race, and with Peter you know he’ll stay upright,” Jakobsen said.

“From above, things look a little scarier than on the bike,” he added.
