Jacobs will manage the structural organization for the primary decarbonization task at Thyssenkrupp Steel

“The decision to entrust Jacobs with the organization of the structure is a vital step towards the successful implementation of our planned structure project,” said Christian Kuhn, direct reduction technical project manager at thyssenkrupp Steel. Our partners play a decisive role in the structure of direct feed systems, melters and auxiliary assemblies to ensure a flawless process and effective implementation. We are convinced of Jacobs’ long experience and exceptional skill in this area. “

As a PMCM partner, the scope of Jacobs’ paintings includes the overall coordination and control of engineering, meetings, and logistics services; structure control and contract control; Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) contractor meeting control for the direct relief plant; and manage interfaces between the structure and meeting teams.

Thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG is Germany’s largest metals producer. The Duisburg-based company, with around 26,000 employees, is one of the world’s leading suppliers of metal products for novel and challenging programs as well as for the provision of metal-related services. Steel production at Thyssenkrupp Steel Europe is expected to be absolutely unbiased to weather conditions until 2045 at the latest. The decisive step in this direction will be the structure of hydrogen-based direct relief plants combined with state-of-the-art fusion units. The first plant is expected to be operational in Duisburg in 2026. The production of five million tonnes of low-CO2 metal is already planned for 2030.

At Jacobs, today we seek to reinvent ourselves by solving the world’s most critical disruptions—thriving cities, resilient environments, critical outcomes, operational breakthroughs, clinical discoveries, and complex manufacturing—turning summarized concepts into realities that transform the world forever. With an annual revenue of approximately $15 billion and a force of more than 60,000 talents, Jacobs offers a full diversity of professional facilities, adding consulting, technical, clinical, and assignment delivery facilities for government and the private sector.
