PanARMENIAN.Net – Italy banned access to other people from thirteen countries on Thursday (July 10), adding to Armenia, because it said they had a higher rate of Covid-19 infections, Reuters reports.
In addition to Armenia, the list compiled through the Ministry of Health is also from Bahrain, Bangladesh, Brazil, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chile, Kuwait, Northern Macedonia, Moldova, Oman, Panama, Peru and the Dominican Republic.
The ban applies to those who have stayed or traveled to those countries in the more than 14 days, Health Minister Roberto Speranza said in a statement.
Travellers from all other outdoor countries of the European Union and the Schengen Free Movement Area will likely come to Italy, but will have to serve 14 days of quarantine upon arrival.
“The pandemic is at its highest acute stage worldwide. We wasted the sacrifices made through the Italians in recent months,” Speranza said.
The number of cases shown of coronavirus in Armenia increased from 557 to 30,903 on Friday morning, according to data provided through the Ministry of Health. So far, another 18709 people have recovered, 546 have died of coronavirus in the country, while another 177 have died from other causes.
