MILAN – Italy reported on Sunday 297 coronavirus-related deaths, up from 380 the previous day, while the count of new infections has been reduced to 19611 since 23839.
Some 272,630 coronavirus tests were conducted in 24 hours, compared to 357,154 previous tests, the Ministry of Health said.
Italy has recorded 107,933 COVID-19-related deaths since its outbreak in February last year, the time deaths were reported in Europe after Britain and seventh in the world, and reported 3. 53 million cases to date.
The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19, without adding those in intensive care, was 28,701 on Sunday, up from 28,621 the previous day.
There were 217 new admissions to extensive care units, compared to 264 on Saturday. The total number of patients in extensive care increased from 44 to 3,679 (report via Agnieszka Flak; edited through Kevin Liffey).
