Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni condemned the vandalism of the headquarters of a pro-life organization in Rome during a protest marking the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

In a Nov. 27 social media post, Meloni wondered “how can you think of fighting violence against women through such unbearable acts of violence and intimidation. “
“Should violence be condemned or only when it is directed against someone whose concepts we share?” wrote the Italian Prime Minister.
“A vandalized headquarters is unacceptable. Especially if you’re devastating it on behalf of women who have been raped, beaten or murdered,” she added.

The pro-life organization said Nov. 26 that an incendiary weapon was also discovered inside the office, near the broken windows, which, according to initial police findings, could simply be an unexploded Molotov cocktail or similar weapon.
The organization said the attempted attack on its headquarters “literally demonstrates the hypocrisy of the feminist and transfeminist movements that have taken advantage of recent occasions to carry out an act of intimidation against our nonprofit organization. “
“This violence is all the more unjustified given the activities of our association: the coverage of life from conception to natural death, the promotion of the circle of relatives and the coverage of the educational freedoms of parents. “
Meloni has described herself in speeches as a Christian and has publicly expressed her admiration for Pope St. John Paul II.
