Hundreds of others who died of coronavirus have been buried in graves without the wisdom of their loved ones, due to overflowing hospitals and emerging deaths, ABC Australia reports.
When Giovanni, Vando Fossati’s brother, died of the virus, the deaths from Covid-19 exceeded 900 per day in Italy.
In the midst of this chaos, it took only about two weeks to show off the death of his brother and in his circle of relatives to find out where his body would be taken.
Buried in a mass grave called Camp 97, along with 128 others, Giovanni’s frame will be buried for two years due to the threat of infection.
“The earth, the rocks, it’s a disgrace that there’s no dignity here,” Fossati told ABC.
“It is my brother, my brother is dead; he doesn’t see it, he doesn’t feel it. His wife sees it, I see him.”
“This is not Milan. He’ll consider it. It’s another place, another city, another country. This is not Italy.”
Giovanni Fossati’s wife, Magda, also left in the dark about her husband while she was in the hospital recovering from Covid-19.
“I didn’t know anything. Nobody told me anything about my husband’s death. They can’t say the family circle didn’t care about him.”
The Milan Council has said that it needs the site where Giovanni Fossati is buried in a memorial of Covid-19.
