Israeli startup StoreDot unveils super-fast charging batteries for drones

The company is sending about 1,000 samples of its first-generation batteries, which are also suitable for drones, smartphone brands, medical devices and other energy-needing accessories and equipment, Myersdorf said.

The outbreak of the coronavirus hampered development of the firm’s products, Myersdorf said, as the company has a joint venture with a Chinese firm to manufacture them.

With the same technology, StoreDot also introduces a new ultra-fast electric car battery.

In June last year, the start-up said it had achieved a “global first” by effectively charging a two-wheeled electric vehicle in five minutes, along with BP Ventures, the venture capital arm of British oil and fuel multinational BP plc, which invested $20 million in the start-up.

The company is operating lately with a momentary generation of batteries, myersdorf said, which will be suitable for electric cars. Expect to have an ad edition in a position until the end of next year when the battery recharges the cars in 10 minutes.

To date, StoreDot has raised $130 million from investors such as BP Ventures, Samsung Venture Investment, Daimler AG, manufacturer Mercedes Benz and power and electronics manufacturer TDK Corporation.
