Agreement at the first convention on food scarcity and climate generation in Eilat

Israel and Bahrain agreed on Wednesday on bilateral cooperation on agriculture, livestock and food security.

Israel’s Minister of Agriculture Oded Forer and his Bahraini counterpart H. E. Wael Bin Nasser Al Mubarak.

The agreement between the two countries of the Abraham Accord, a component of the first foreign convention on food shortages and climate technologies, was organized through Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture.

This week’s International Summit on Food Technologies of the Sea and Desert also includes representatives from the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Jordan, Cyprus and Malta, among countries.

In total, more than 70 representatives from around the world, 10 ministers and deputy ministers attend the event.

“Today we have taken the first step on the path set through the resolution of the government I led, to make Eilat a foreign center for food research in the sea and desert,” Forer said at the signing ceremony.

“The signing of the agreement with Bahrain’s Minister of Agriculture, at the convention attended by ministers from around the world and high-level delegations from Morocco, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, is a vital step in selling cooperation that Israel will see as a means for the study and progression of seafood and desert. ” the Minister continued.

The convention comes after the government announced a roughly $48 million plan to turn Eilat into a hub for generating food from the sea and desert.
