Iraq and NATO discuss military cooperation

The Chief of Staff of the Iraqi Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, met on Tuesday with the commander of NATO Joint Forces in Naples, Admiral Stuart Munch, and discussed with him tactics to expand the functions of the Iraqi army.

During the meeting, they discussed facets of the army’s cooperation and coordination to expand the Iraqi army’s functions and counterterrorism efforts, the Iraqi Defense Ministry said in a statement.

During his meeting with Admiral Stuart Munch, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al Sudani affirmed his country’s commitment to the partnership with NATO, expressing Iraq’s appreciation for NATO’s position in the fight against terrorism by offering education to Iraqi security forces. He affirmed that Iraq is ready to carry out joint actions with NATO.
