DUBAI, Iran (AP) — Iran has begun enriching uranium to 60 percent purity at its underground nuclear plant in Fordow, state media said Tuesday, describing the move as a reaction to the U. N. nuclear watchdog’s call for greater cooperation from Tehran.

“In a letter to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran informed the company that it had begun enriching uranium to 60% purity at the Fordow site,” the semi-official ISNA news company reported, adding that it was a “strong response. “” to the firm’s most recent resolution.
