Iran’s ambassador to Bangladesh, Mansour Chavoshi, said his country would support Bangladesh in the safe and dignified repatriation of the Rohingya to their homeland, Myanmar.
Iran’s ambassador expressed his country’s position when he visited Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Gono Bhaban today (October 25, 2022).
The Prime Minister’s press secretary, Ihsanul Karim, reported after the meeting.
He said the ambassador praised Bangladesh for Rohingya refugees on humanitarian grounds.
They discussed imaginable tactics to strengthen bilateral relations and encourage exchanges between the two countries.
The minister said Bangladesh and Iran have wonderful potential to expand and diversify bilateral trade.
“Both sides can just paint on industry facilitation measures,” he said.
Referring to the sanctions and counter-sanctions due to the Russian-Ukrainian war, the Prime Minister said that other people around the world are suffering from this war.
Ambassador to Greater Ziauddin and Chief Secretary Ahmad Kaikaus were present at the meeting.
