Iran “remains on the sidelines” of Israel-Hamas conflict

Former CIA director and U. S. Army General David Petraeus says Iran is “sitting on the sidelines” of the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

“Iran stands on the sidelines after funding, equipping, directing, and educating surrogate teams; Hamas is one of them, Hezbollah in Lebanon is even more powerful,” General Petraeus told Sky News Australia presenter Piers Morgan.

“They made it all possible. “

In 2020, the U. S. State Department reported that Iran donated more than $100 million a year to Palestinian terrorist groups, including Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

However, Iran has donated $20,000 to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, which provides assistance and coverage to Palestine refugees.

“The challenge for Israel is how to carry out a project that I think it wants to be completed: the destruction of Hamas and . . . of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad,” General Petraeus said.

“The Israelis are not only getting rid of these terrorist groups; they also said they were seeking to dismantle the political wing of Hamas, which means they will also overthrow the government there.
