Iran has presented bonuses to Taliban fighters in Afghanistan to kill U.S. and coalition troops, according to a CNN report.

Iran has reimbursed the Haqqani network after exhausting at least six attacks on the interests of the United States and the coalition in 2019, according to a joint intelligence assessment conducted in July through the CIA, NSA and NCTC, CNN reported Monday.

The Haqqani network is led by Sirajuddin Haqqani, who is the deputy leader of the Taliban.

Iran also paid premiums to the Haqqani network for its attack on Bagram Air Base in December 2019, according to a Pentagon briefing paper reviewed via CNN. The attack killed two civilians and wounded more than 70, 4 Americans.
