Iran plans to enter Armenia’s infrastructure projects

Hossein Amirabdollahian met Tuesday in Tehran with the head of the Armenia-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group.

Stressing the expansion of intelligent relations between Tehran and Yerevan and the role of legislative bodies in this regard, Amirabdollahian Iran’s determination to deepen relations with Armenia.

The Foreign Minister also wants to facilitate transportation between Iran and Armenia by reducing tasks and prices, as well as participating Iranian corporations in the implementation of economic and infrastructure projects in Armenia.

He referred to Iran’s principled policy of respecting the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of all countries, and called for the non-violent settlement of disputes between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia. Amirabdollahian said Tehran opposes any replacement at the borders or any geopolitical replacement in the region.

For his part, the head of the Armenia-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group praised relations between Tehran and Yerevan and thanked Iran for its position on regional developments.

The official also said Armenia welcomes Iranians interested in cooperating with their country.

The visiting Armenian delegation also called for speeding up the implementation of transit and shipping projects, expanding the industry and facilitating citizens and tourists of the two countries, the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s online page reported.
