Speaking on the sidelines of the cabinet assembly on Wednesday, Owji said his ministry earned about one billion euros of Iraq’s debt to Iran for fuel imports last year at 1400 (ends March 20, 2022).
Iran earned about 1. 6 billion euros in arrears from Iraq for its fuel exports to that country in the year existing in 1401 (until March 20, 2023), the oil minister added.
The Oil Ministry of President Raeisi’s 13th government has so far used all its forward-looking functions to the fullest of the industry’s goals, he said.
In addition, the Ministry of Oil of the XIII government has taken giant steps with the power of international relations and has controlled the conclusion of oil sales contracts with many countries of the world, adding Latin American states, said the minister.
Regarding fuel exports to neighboring Iraq, the oil minister noted that the volume of Iran’s fuel exports to Iraq has increased by 1. 5 billion cubic meters more this year than last year in 2021.
