Iran dig massive trenches to bury coronavirus deaths, report says

Iran announced its first case on February 19. The country has been severely affected by the virus, which has killed more than 420 people, some senior officials added. A vice president also got it.

In total, more than 10,000 cases have been shown in the Islamic Republic, many outdoor Iran suspects that the count is much higher. In Qom, more than 846 people contracted the virus, according to The Post.

CORONAVIRUS: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

A senior imaging analyst at Maxar Technologies in Colorado told the paper that the size of the trenches and the speed with which they were excavated deviate from classic burial practices on the site.

In a video through the newspaper, a narrator says he is at Behesht-e Masoumeh Cemetery on March 3.

“One employee told me they had to bury more than 250 coronavirus sufferers so far,” legend reads.

“They’re all graves and they’re fresh,” the narrators say.

“These are all the last days,” he continues. “And as you can see, it lasts to the end.”

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo accused Tehran of suppressing the disease.

“The United States is deeply involved through reports that the Iranian regime would possibly have erased important important points about the epidemic in that country,” Pompeo said last month.

On Tuesday, he called for humanitarian aid from Americans illegally detained in Iran amid considerations of the virus in Iranian prisons.

“Reports that COVID-19 has spread to Iranian prisons are deeply troubling and require nothing less than the full and prompt release of all U.S. citizens,” Pompeo said. “His detention in the midst of degraded situations defies basic human decency.”
