Iowa COVID Cases Rise and Hospitalizations Plummet

The state’s COVID-19 infection rate remained roughly stable last week, but hospitalizations among other inflamed people fell about 24 percent, according to state and federal fitness data.

On Wednesday, the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services reported 1,980 infections among those not previously infected, up 6 percent from last week.

The total number of positive tests recorded statewide, which includes reinfections, is 2547, an increase of about 1 percent.

The state does not come with infections that have already become inflamed in the total number of cases it reports to federal health officials. Do Not Track

The number of inflamed people receiving hospital treatment at Iowa hospitals rose to 137 on Wednesday, up from 180 the week before. Of those hospitalized, 16 were in intensive care.

The state reported 24 new virus-related deaths, for a total of 10,253 since the pandemic began.

The state’s stagnant infection rate mirrors that of the entire United States, according to knowledge gathered through The New York Times. Globally, infection rates are highest in several European countries, Australia, Chile, Japan, South Korea and others.

Most of Iowa has a low threat of infection, according to research of infection and hospitalization rates by the U. S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. U. S. High-threat counties are most commonly found in the far north.
