NHS Highland has announced that it is releasing patients from RNI Hospital in Inverness as it prepares to respond to a momentary wave of Covid-19.
Patients will be discharged over the next 4 weeks with a critical service interview to manage any possible accumulation of the disease.
The fitness board also apologized to the local network that voted against the decision.
The resolution caused the network to disapprove with a closing request, obtaining more than 500 signatures.
The Unison union also called on the Highland NHS to end projects they said were “unexpected” for staff.
The fitness board said a normal reassessment would be performed but “had no plans to stay in the RNI hospital permanently.”
