By Zoila Palma González: USA The U. S. government imposed COVID-19 testing on travelers from China after reporting cases, the BBC reports.
Meanwhile, Italy, Japan, Taiwan and India have already announced the obligation for travelers from China.
China will allow others to have more freedom from January 8, 2023.
The country’s health government reports 5,000 cases per day, analysts say the figures are underestimated. The surge in cases has exhausted resources and there is uncertainty about the scale of the outbreak amid doubts about official data.
The United States says the lack of “adequate and transparent” knowledge of COVID-19 in China contributed to the resolution to require COVID-19 starting January five for travelers entering the country from China, Hong Kong and Macau.
The U. S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)U. S. officials said the resolution “helps slow the spread of the virus as we seek to identify . . . any potential new variants that may arise. “
