Jim Ratcliffe, Ineos’ billionaire oil chief, today led his new Grenadier 4X4 to his public debut in Britain, and revealed that it would hardly be built in the UK.
In an exclusive interview with This is Money and the Mail Online, he said that an agreement to rival Land Rover Defender at a former Daimler-owned factory in Hambach, on the border of France and Germany, ”pretty” decided.A hard blow to Bridgend in Wales, where the application of the car was originally ready for production.
Ratcliffe, Britain’s fifth richest man, took the wheel of a first prototype of the SUV at the Concourse of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace in London, where he admitted it the first time he saw the vehicle in metal.

The Grenadier 4X4 made its UK debut at the Concourse of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace today.Ratcliffe admitted it’s also the first time he’s seen the vehicle in metal.
Delighted with the reaction of visitors to his fatal 4X4, Ratcliffe said, “It’s amazing, it’s the first time I’ve noticed.”I’ve noticed it as a clay style so far, it’s very exciting ”.
When asked to describe the vehicle and its performance, he added: “It will result in 80% Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, but at a partial price.”
Ratcliffe, who is said to be worth 12.15 billion pounds, according to Time Times’ list of rich by 2020, provided additional information on the progression of the 4X4, which will occur in south Wales and create 500 new jobs for the British engine..
“We have two hundred German engineers near Stuttgart running there,” explained the petrochemical tycoon.
“The engine is amazing. And the engineering is perfect.Doors close with genuine noise.
When asked if he had taken the decision to leave, he admitted; ‘Rather.’
The 4X4 is a direct rival to the Land Rover Defender, but Ratcliffe compared to the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon

Your words will be a bitter board for Bridgend.
Ratcliffe said last summer that the 4X4 would come with a “Made in Britain seal” because it would be produced at a new factory in South Wales.
Not only that, Inoes Automotive has even revealed computer-generated photographs of how the plant can simply take a look at Ford’s engine plant, which should close this month.
However, the availability of a ready-to-use production facility in Hambach, near the German border and near the German city of Sarrebruck in the sarre commercial region, has led to the suspension of structure projects in the UK.
How does the Ineos Grenadier fit the new Land Rover Defender? Here’s a one to one
Proposed jobs in the UK automotive sector may be eliminated: Ineos Automotive has once announced that it would build its new Grenadier 4X4 at a new plant in Bridgend, Wales
The South Wales plant would have created two hundred new jobs initially, reaching 500 once production increased. The Ford engine factory due to the closure is the construction that can be seen on the most sensitive part to the left of this image.
In a July issue, Dirk Heilmann, Managing Director of Ineos Automotive, said: “Overca capacity has long been a major challenge for the automotive sector.
Of course, we’ve looked in this direction before, but in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, new features like this have been opened with the Hambach plant that just weren’t had before.
“So we go back and wonder if adding two new production amenities is the right thing to do in today’s environment.
The SUV Grenadier did not perform in its entirety until July, revealing a form very similar to that of the previous generation’s Land Rover Defender.
Petrochemical company Ineos, owned by Brexit supporter Sir Jim Ratcliffe (pictured), named Britain’s fifth richest man by this year’s Sunday Times, said last fall that he would manufacture the vehicle in Wales.
The Grenadier is designed to be a 4X4 application of the same type as the original Land Rover series and is aimed at farmers and suvout enthusiasts.
He added: “Covid has had an effect on our structure schedules with cleaning and back-down paintings through the social esttachment measures that were necessary.
“Safety is of course paramount, but we also have a legal responsibility to do the right thing for the company, so we want to compare those new opportunities in order to maintain our deadlines.”

Ineos has said it will reconsider its features in the coming weeks, Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s comments recommend that the deal is nearing completion.
The chiefs had estimated that Ineos Automotive would build up to 25,000 4X4 a year, which would have created two hundred jobs in Wales initially, at 500 in the long run.
Nearly a hundred workers are already with their engineering spouse MBTech at their hub near Stuttgart in Germany, just 240 miles from the Daimler plant in Hambach in east France.
The engines used in Grenadier will be BMW six-cylinder petrol and diesel powertrains, which would also be less difficult and more cost-effective to ship to a production facility on the French border than to undergo import tasks to ship to Wales after Brexit.
A subassembly plant in Estarreja, Portugal, also originally planned to produce chassis and rack components.
It has also been said to create up to 500 more jobs in the long run, but now it is also a threat.

Ineos said he had suspended the resumption of paintings after the closure at sites in Wales and Portugal pending resolution to take over the Hambach plant sold through Daimler (pictured)
In statements to This is Money, Ineos Automotive’s leading advertising manager Mark Tennant said earlier this year: “Grenadier is surely moving forward. It’s a reaffirmation of the situation. We’re looking for anything that hasn’t been had before. This is nothing,” we take lightly.
The fallout from the coronavirus has been significant when contemplating moving to the plant in continental Europe, but Brexit has not, he insisted – some industry skeptics see it as a practical canopy for an uncompromising currency move.
Tennant said the timing of a ready-to-use site provided through Hambach is the decisive factor, not Britain’s resolve to leave the EU.
“Brexit is not a problem, ” he said.” Brexit played no role.
“We seek to mitigate dangers over time. There’s a lot in the air about a wave of Covid.
Ineos owner Ratcliffe, 67, has been a strong supporter of Brexit and said Britain would thrive outside the EU.
In an interview with The Sunday Time in 2018, shortly after being knighted, he said: ‘The British are perfectly capable of handling the British and do not want Brussels to tell them how to take care of things.
“I just don’t do it in the concept of the United States of Europe. It’s not sustainable.
Today’s announcement, however, may provoke a public reaction against the petrochemical tycoon, similar to that targeted at Britain’s richest guy, Sir James Dyson, when he announced his goal of moving production of his unfortunate electric car from the UK to Singapore, despite being heavy by Brexit’s decision.
The allocation of the electric SUV, however, was deserted at the end of last year, after the contractor declared it “not commercially viable.”
Sir James Dyson, Britain’s richest man, was heavily criticized when he announced his goal of moving british brand electric car production to Singapore in 2018, despite his strong support for the Brexit campaign.all discontinued last year
The Hambach plant recently evolved with a new line of committed SUVs, similar in length to the Grenadier
The heads of Ineos said that the already made to the production plant would be ‘perfectly adapted’ to build the new Grenadier 4X4
Mr. Tennant said; “The Grenadier will have to be a strong advertising proposal. We want to take a look at the existing capacity. We’re still in negotiations.
If Hambach’s option is concluded, production in southern Wales and Portugal will take place, he confirmed.”It’s a binary decision,” he explained.

It is “too early” to communicate any refunds or other refunds to the Welsh government, which was reaching a wider site for businesses, he added in July.
Tenant convinced that, despite delays caused by coronavirus, production at the end of 2021 and first sales in 2022 would continue as scheduled.
“Our aspiration is to start production in late 2021 and put the Grenadier up for sale in early 2022,” he told us.
The coronavirus pandemic has noted the need for new cars in the global meltdown and exacerbates overcapacity, just as the industry is pumping billions into electrifying its styling levels to meet stringent emissions rules.
German automaker Daimler has made the French plant a component of its extensive cost-cutting efforts.
The site, which houses the wise TWO EQ models, recently evolved with a new line of compromised SUVs, similar in length to the Grenadier.
Ineos’ bosses said it would be ‘perfectly suited’ for the production of the 4X4, which is the non-secular successor to the Land Rover Defender.
Upon launch, the Grenadier will be powered by BMW 3.0-litre petrol and diesel engines, followed by an electric hydrogen edition.
Ineos Automotive will launch two variants of its own off-road vehicle: a vintage 4X4 (left) design plus a cab van (right) with an open rear loading platform.
Ineos’ bosses insisted that they were not seeking to exploit a subsidized merry-go-round through play in one country opposed to another, as other brands seemed to do in the past, but that they had to replace it for purely advertising reasons.
“Subsidies are not the main problem. We don’t play games to track down who can give us maximum support,” Tennant said.
“Hambach has provided us with more features to minimize delays through Covid.
“The most important thing for Hambach is the opportunity to move from a green box to an existing thing with a professional workforce.
He admitted that the prospect of a professional at Bridgend in south Wales had been a great attraction at first.
He said Inoes had also looked at Hambach in the past, but ruled it because at the time he had the ability to build 4X4, now he is, after a big investment in 2018.
