YAKARTA: Indonesia signed an agreement with the United States for infrastructure financing through personal sector investments, Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance and the U. S. Treasury Department announced Friday.
U. S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin remotely signed the deal with Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati on Friday, according to a U. S. Treasury Department website.
Rahayu Puspasari, spokesman for Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance, said separately that the agreement will strengthen the progression of capital markets and monetary tools to “facilitate and reduce barriers to personal sector investment in infrastructure. “
Puspasari added that the agreement would help improve asset recycling capacity, assess the effect on financing already granted, and improve credit.
