YAKARTA, 16 September – Indonesia recorded 3,963 new positive cases in COVID-19 in 24 hours, the highest daily number since the first case detected in the republic on 2 March 2020.
According to the knowledge published today in the Indonesian government official on COVID-19, www. covid19. go. id, the number of positive cases has so far increased to 228,993, while another 100,236 people are being monitored for the disease.
From noon to noon today, another 135 deaths occurred, bringing the death toll to 9,100.
Jakarta Province, which has been under large-scale social restriction (PSBB) for two weeks until last Monday, still recorded the number of positive instances with 57,469 instances, with an accumulation of 1,294 new instances.
The province of East Java recorded the number of deaths with 2,867, followed by Jakarta (1,481), Central Java (1,179), South Kalimantan (392), South Sulawesi (386) and the rest in other provinces.
