Indonesia posts 2,266 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

YAKARTA, 20 August – The number of positive cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia continues to 147,211 cases, while 79,484 patients are still being monitored for the virus.

According to the knowledge published today by the Indonesian government official at COVID-19, www.covid19.go.id, 2,266 new instances were registered in 24 hours in the republic.

From noon to noon today, 72 deaths were recorded, bringing the death toll to 6418.

During the period, Jakarta province recorded 594 new cases with 19 more deaths and now the province has the general infection with 31,610 cases, followed by East Java (29,257) and the remaining cases in 32 other provinces.

East Java has the highest death toll with 2,098, followed by Jakarta (1,048), Central Java (813), southern Sulawesi (347), while the rest of the victims were in other provinces of Indonesia.
