India’s federal interior minister, Amit Shah, was re-admitted to a hospital to complain of fatigue and pain and discomfort, days after recovering from COVID-19, authorities said Tuesday.
Shah, a tough leader of the ruling party prominent as a deputy to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, entered the National Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi on Monday.
“Amit Shah has been complaining of fatigue and pain for 3 or 4 days.He tested negative for COVID-19.
“He was admitted to AIIMS for post-Covid care.
“He is and continues with his paintings of the hospital,” hospital spokeswoman Aarti Vij said in a statement.
Hospital resources told national media that Shah was taken to hospital because he had mild fever and shortness of breath.
Shah, 55, left a hospital on Friday after recovering from the disease.
He had tweeted that he would be in solitary confinement in the house for a few more days at his doctors’ office.
India ranks third among the most affected countries after the United States and Brazil, with infections exceeding the mark of 2.7 million and a death toll of 51,797.
It reported the largest number of instances in the world over a fortnight with more than 50,000 instances consistent with the day.(Dpa / NAN)
