MUMBAI – Indian Interior Minister Amit Shah was hospitalized on Tuesday after complaining of fatigue and aches and pains and pains, four days after noting that he had recovered from COVID-19.
Shah, assistant to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and virtual number two in his cabinet, has been admitted to the government-run Institute of Medical Sciences in the capital New Delhi, the hospital said in a statement.
“He is and continues with his hospital paintings,” he said, adding that he tested negative for COVID-19.
India has reported the third highest number of coronavirus infections in the world after the United States and Brazil, with cases exceeding 50,000 each day since July 30. A total of 51,797. (Report through Shilpa Jamkhandikar; edited through Kim Coghill)
