Some of the academics have selected to follow online courses from abroad, the maximum number of foreign academics from Singapore’s autonomous universities are here for the courses, Channel News Asia (CNA) reported on Thursday.
For the new semester, which began on September 14, universities have opted for a mix of study box-based online and offline courses, with large-scale lectures still online.
The National University of Singapore (NUS), the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) and the University of Social Sciences of Singapore (SUSS) said most of their foreign academics had returned to Singapore.
“We will continue with the remaining foreign academics by submitting their programs to the relevant agencies to download the mandatory approvals,” a NUS spokesman told the channel.
Most SUTD fellows arrived in Singapore to serve their 14-day period before the start of the semester, the university spokesman said.
Mihika Agarwal, 19, a freshman at Nanyang University of Technology (NTU), arrived in Singapore on September 11 and is lately serving his 14-day home era (NHS).
“Because I’m a freshman who goes to college right away, college is more of a complete college delight than just academics,” explained Agarwal, who is from Kolkata, why she didn’t opt for online courses.
Shreya Sanganeria, who is a nuS sophomore, will continue her studies in India after her faculty courses were completely put online during the semester.
He returned home in May on an evacuation flight.
Currently, all lectures are recorded to allow academics to see them at their own pace, said Sanganeria, an economics student, adding that academics also had a selection among the instructional spaces to ensure that those who log in can report on time. .
“When it’s virtual, it’s much more limited because other people don’t open up practically and everyone does their thing. And then we just finished the course, so there’s not much interaction with academics in my module that I do I don’t already know,” he says.
