India to impose negative Covid for some countries

NEW DELHI: India plans to make a negative Covid-19 verification report mandatory for passengers arriving from countries with a high number of cases, the country’s fitness minister said in an interview with broadcaster NewsX.

“Over the next week, the decided countries where the number of cases is higher today will be known,” Minister Mansukh Mandavya said.

“People from there coming to India will have to upload their RT-PCR (Covid-19) reports and then come. “

Passengers will have to upload their reports to a government and go through thermal control upon landing, Mandavya said.

India, which has reported the current number of Covid cases shown in the world to date, will start randomly testing 2% of foreign passengers arriving at its airports for Covid-19, Mandaviya told parliament yesterday.

Earlier this week, the country’s government asked Indian states to look for new variants of the virus and suggested others wear masks in crowded areas, bringing up cases of covid-19 in China and other parts of the world.
