India has reported 756 new covid cases across the country in the past 24 hours, the Union health ministry said on Sunday. Most sensibly, the number of active cases has dropped to 8,115. While the positivity rate has reached 0. 63%, the weekly positivity rate remains at 0. 71%.
In the last 3 years of the pandemic, India has reported more than 44. 9 million covid-related deaths and 5,31,832.
Health experts say currently, admissions occur among the elderly and others with comorbidities. Therefore, other people take their booster dose if they haven’t already.
Scientists have said XBB. 1. 16 is the covid-19 variant to blame for the outbreak in recent months, however, cases have now begun to decline across the country.
Scientists say that other people in India have developed hybrid immunity (due to vaccination and herbal infection), therefore, existing variants of covid-19 will not cause hospitalization or severity as they are benign in nature. However, the government has warned that other people wear masks in crowded places and supplement their vaccination doses if they have not already done so.
About 4. 44 million people have recovered from the infection with 1,308 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The current recovery rate is 98. 80%.
Meanwhile, the Union Ministry of Health ordered the state government/UT to adhere to a risk-based technique to save it and involve infection. The Ministry of Health has asked state governments to review the covid-19 scenario at the micro point (district and subdistricts) and focus on implementing the mandatory measures for timely and effective control of covid-19 with due assurance of effective compliance.
The government has asked states for the five-pronged strategy, the Test-Track Treat-Vaccination strategy. About 1,19,623 tests were conducted in one day, bringing the total number of tests to Rs 92. 93 crore.
So far of the covid vaccination campaign, more than 220. 66 million doses of vaccine have been administered to the population across the country so far. In the last 24 hours, approximately 1282 doses of vaccine have been administered.
