India reports 2,119 new COVID-19 infections

On Friday, the number of COVID-19 cases in India fell to 2119, officials said.

According to the knowledge of the Federal Ministry of Health released on Friday morning, 2,119 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 44,638,636 in the country.

With the notification of newArray, the number of assets in India lately rises to 25,037.

The country has recorded 10 similar deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 528,953 since the pandemic began, the ministry said.

With the accumulation of cases, the positivity rate stands at 1. 13% and the weekly positivity rate has been recorded at 0. 97%, according to ministry data.

The ministry said that to date, 44,084,646 more people have been effectively cured and discharged from hospital, adding 2,582 in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health, the cumulative vaccination against COVID-19 in the country has exceeded two billion doses and as of Friday morning, 2,195,097,574 doses have been administered.

A cumulative total of 899,627,428 samples were analyzed on Oct. 20, the Health Ministry said Friday. Of those, 188,220 tests were conducted on Thursday alone.

Health experts say COVID-19 is a cyclical disease and will come in waves.
