India recorded 1,580 new covid infections, while active cases fell to 18,009 from 19,613, according to Union Health Ministry data on Friday.
The number of COVID-19 in the country is now 4. 49 crore (4,49,76,599).
The death toll rose to 531,753 with 12 deaths, adding those counted through Kerala, according to data updated at 08:00 hours.
Active accounts for 0. 04% of total infections.
The national COVID-19 recovery rate recorded 98. 77 percent, the ministry said, adding that the number of other people who recovered from the disease rose to 4,44,28,417, while the case fatality rate was 1. 18 percent.

According to the ministry’s website, 220. 66 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered as part of the national vaccination campaign.
