India has produced 18,006 tonnes of biomedical waste since June, according to the knowledge of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

In general, Maharashtra generated 3587 tonnes of Covid-19 biomedical waste, followed by Tamil Nadu (1737 tonnes), Gujarat (1638 tonnes), Kerala (1516 tonnes), Uttar Pradesh (1432 tonnes), Delhi (1400 tonnes) and Karnataka (1380 tonnes). West Bengal (1,000 tonnes).
In early March, the CPCB issued express rules for the handling, repair and disposal of such wastes in health care services, quarantine centers, homes, pattern collection centers, laboratories, pollutant control commissions, urban agencies premises and joint biomedical waste disposal services (CBWTF). .

The rules ordered state governments to carefully care for Covid-19 samples and dispose of biomedical waste diligently so as not to allow pathogens to spread and transmit disease.
In May, the pollutant firm developed the “Covid19BWM” cell application to monitor coronavirus-like biomedical waste and compile electronic knowledge manifest systems.
