August 30 (UPI): Coronavirus has increased in India since the first cases and deaths were reported just six months ago.
India also reported 948 new deaths on Sunday, after a record 1120 on July 20, fourth in the total number of deaths with 63,498 deaths and Mexico with just 321 deaths.
Over the more than 3 months, the pandemic has accelerated in India. The death toll reached 5,608 on 1 June, following the announcement of the first death on 12 March, according to Worldometer.info. The first 3 cases were announced on 2 March and the total number of cases amounted to 227,476 as of June 1.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday suggested to others to be cautious during the upcoming holiday season.
Although deaths have increased, the country of 1380 million people, the most populous country in the world at the moment, has a low mortality rate of 46 deaths consistent with one million inhabitants compared to the global total of 108.7. The rate is 564 in the United States, 66 in Brazil and 494 in Mexico.
But the evidence is falling behind in India. The country ranks third globally with 41.4 million tests, however, this rate is only 29997 million for the United States with 244,798 consistent with millions with 81.1 million tests in total.
In India, two cricketers and 11 Indian Premier League staff members tested positive for coronavirus, according to a statement released Saturday through the Cricket Control Board in India. They are all asymptomatic and have moved away from the other team members.
“When they arrived in the United Arab Emirates [United Arab Emirates], all participants completed a quarantine and mandatory testing program. A total of 1,988 COVID RT-PCR tests were conducted on all teams of participants in the United Arab Emirates between 20 and 28 August,” read.
On Saturday, India reported 944 of the 1,491 total deaths in Asia. Overall, the continent had 139,634 deaths.
Iran is the only other Asian country in the 10 most sensitive deaths, adding 103 for a total of 21,462 to tenth place.
Deaths and cases have been surging in Japan. On Saturday, the nation reported 17 deaths, for a total death toll of 1,255. The new deaths match the number two days earlier and is just short of its largest total since 19 on May 22. It cases were 850.
South Korea reported two deaths for a total of 323, and 299 cases to total 19,699. It was the 17th consecutive day of triple-digit daily increases.
Seoul officials issued a “closing week of 10 million citizens” from Sunday to next Sunday, urging others to stay away from social gatherings, as 203 cases have been reported in the region. The opening hours of franchised restaurants, bakeries and cafes in Seoul and the main regions of the capital are limited to one week.
The pandemic continues to increase in South America with 1,581 deaths reported on Saturday and a total of 199,959.
Brazil reported 904 deaths for a total of 120,498. Peru ranks ninth with 28,607, 136 on Saturday. Colombia is in 11th place with 19064, adding 297 on Saturday. And Chile ranks 14th with 11,181, winning 49.
“To land on the archipelago, the tourist will need to present the result of a positive PCR test that is at least 20 days old, or the result of the serological test showing the presence of antibodies against COVID,” its administrator, Guilherme Rocha, told a news conference Thursday.
The beaches come with turquoise waters, golden sandy beaches, dolphins swimming lazily on the high seas.
Further north in the Western Hemisphere, Mexico also seeks to attract visitors despite 673 deaths on Saturday.
Cabo San Lucas and near San Jose del Cabo reopened tourists last month. Government hotels in Cabo to fill 50% of their rooms.
“Use a mask,” says an ad, flashing in a person’s video in apnea. “Practice social estrangement”.
“There are citizens who say, ‘Why endanger my family’s life by inviting more visitors, restarting more flights?'” Luis Humberto Araiza López, Baja California Sur’s tourism minister, told The Washington Post. “It’s a delicate line between looking to public fitness and economic growth.”
Andrés Manuel López Obrador predicted that “the tourism sector will have been normalized” until the end of the year.
Prohibition of non-essential remains in Mexico, the United States and Canada until September.
Compared to Mexico and the United States, Canada’s scenario has been mitigated. The country reported six deaths on Saturday for a total of 9,113, including 315 cases.
In Europe, the pandemic has largely subsided, with the exception of some spikes in cases.
On Saturday, the continent reported 267 deaths, led by Russia with 111, for a total of 207,198.
Britain has the highest death in Europe with 41,498 and has fallen to fifth place in the world, adding 12 on Saturday, down from a peak of 1,172 at the start of the pandemic. Once the epicentre of the world, Italy ranks sixth with 35,473, adding up a Saturday and 919 in one day.
France ranks seventh with 30,602 deaths, but reported 5,463 cases after 7,379 on Friday, from 7,578 on 31 March. Spain, which does not report knowledge on the weekend, is eighth with 29,011, adding 15 on Friday.
Masks are now mandatory in and around Paris, and are added in public spaces. French Prime Minister Jean Castex said Thursday that the coronavirus “gaining ground” in the country, there will be an “exponential” infection if more regulations are implemented.
Germany also has regulations on face decks, adding fines. In addition, giant occasions are banned until the end of the year, in spaces with low contagion rates.
Chancellor Angela Merkel predicted Friday that the coming months would be “even more complicated than now” because other people are outdoors during the summer.
Germany at one point among the 10 most sensitive by deaths, but fell to 16th with 9,363. The country reported no deaths on Sunday, but added 146 cases. On Friday, construction in instances 1,549.
Deaths in Australia increased from 502 to 611 in a week, of which 11 Sunday cases increased from 858 in a week to 25,670, 123 on Sunday.
New Zealand has reported a death since a death on 28 May for a total of 22. The cases are 1,729 with an increase of 173 in a week.
New Zealand is ending a blockade on Monday, masks are mandatory on public transport and are strongly recommended elsewhere.
“Our formula is good, it’s designed to keep us on track with our Level 2 Elimination Strategy in the situation we’ve had lately, but it will only work if other people stick to the guidelines,” Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said On Sunday.

In Africa, deaths increased from 331 on Saturday to 29,472, an increase of 2,000 in a week. South Africa leads the continent with 13,981, adding 238 on Saturday, an accumulation of about 1,000 in a week. Egypt followed up with 5,376 deaths, adding 14 more on Saturday.
South Africa has the sixth number of instances in the world with 622,551, totaling 2,419 on Saturday.
