Independent MP Monique Ryan has proposed enforcing mandatory pre-departure coronavirus testing for those entering Australia from the US. USA, Europe and Asia.
On Sunday afternoon, the measure was presented for arrivals from China, Macao and Hong Kong.
The resolution implies that from 00:01 on January 5, evidence of a negative COVID-19 check made within 48 hours prior to those coming from China will be required.

The move responds to what it calls a “significant wave of COVID-19 infections in China. “
Dr Ryan said the government’s announcement made sense, but advised it to go beyond China and most of the world.
“So. . . it’s time to require prior travel for all travellers entering Australia from Europe, the US, and Canada. “USA, Africa and Asia,” he said on Twitter.
“And. . . Perhaps reinstate public adequacy measures as well?
In an earlier tweet, Dr. Ryan said that while this is just the beginning, other measures should be considered, such as increased access to PCR testing and a loose N95 mask.

“It’s a start, Sue; however, I agree that we want to carry out additional screening of *all* incoming travellers, but also develop PCR control, make N95s free, advertise the use of masks on public transport, on planes and in workplaces, produce rules for the use of HEPA filters indoors. . . “, Said.
Health Minister Mark Butler said the resolution to impose the tests came after the Chinese government announced it would lift its border restrictions on Jan. 8.
“The resolution to put those transitional measures into effect was taken out of an abundance of caution, given the dynamic and evolving scenario in China and the prospect of the emergence of new variants in a high-transmission environment,” it said on Sunday.
“Australia is well placed in its reaction to the pandemic. We continue to monitor the COVID-19 scenario in Australia and internationally, working with medical experts.
“Our most sensible priority is to maintain our network and remain a global leader in responding to the global COVID-19 pandemic. “
Other countries that impose needs on the arrival of Chinese are the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, India, France and Italy.
Last week, Beijing lifted its strict quarantine for incoming foreign visitors.
However, those entering China after January 8 will be required to submit a negative verification result within 48 hours.
