Vice President Yemi Osinbajo called for effective and effective control of Nigeria’s growing population to “a ticking time bomb. “
He said this at a high-level discussion on Nigeria’s new national population policy, where he represented through Maryam Uwais, the president’s special adviser on social investment.
He said the uncontrolled population expansion is “cancerous and a ticking time bomb. “

He added that Nigeria wants to invest heavily in human capital for economic growth.
“It has been argued that population is the challenge but smart management,” he said.
“It is time for us as a country to interact on sensitive issues, because the very stability of our long term depends on those talks,” Osinbajo urged.
