If you have symptoms of COVID-19 or have positive control of the disease abroad, you will not only be able to take a home advertising flight. You’d have to quarantine yourself, and if you want medical treatment, you’re going to have to get it in this country.
If you don’t like this reality, classic insurance can’t solve your problem. Dozens of insurance policies will cover COVID-related medical expenses in your destination country. Some even come with a medical evacuation provision, but only to the nearest proper medical center, not necessarily to the U.S. And none of the membership-based air medical facilities will ship it once it is actively inflamed with COVID-19.
A new company says it can do what others can’t or don’t want. Covac Global is a startup that provides an evacuation and repatriation service that is compensated through a multi-level club program that, unlike other services, will protect others even after reporting COVID-19 symptoms or that test positive for the disease.
Individual subscriptions start at $995 for 30 days of coverage in one year, with higher titles available for 60 days and 90 days of coverage. Family subscriptions can also be available.
The company changes the rules of the game in those coronavirus times, says Ross Thompson, CEO of Covac Global. “Our program gives you peace of mind knowing you can leave a country even if you start to feel bad. If you are in Barbados or Dominican Republic, we can welcome you at dinner time. If you are in Europe or New Zealand, it would possibly take 24 hours. The concept is that we want to take you home and get you out of there before you want to go to the hospital. We want to avoid this full hospitalization procedure in some other country. “
A thousand dollars may seem high, until you think renting a personal plane can charge a hundred or two hundred times that amount, Thompson says. “It’s the same way of thinking as buying insurance, where, if anything happens, you’ve spent a thousand dollars so you don’t have to spend $190,000.”
“And even if I had the cash to rent a plane, I’d be in the position to locate who would take you home, which is incredibly complicated once you check COVID positive or have COVID symptoms,” Thompson says. “Our program takes all this uncertainty out of the equation.”
The company’s control team reads as a list of characters from a novel through Tom Clancy. Thompson has reveled in foreign intelligence and crisis control, while his team is made up of medical experts and FBI veterans and U.S. Army special operations. In particular, Covac Global’s top established sister company, HRI, “conducts intelligence operations on global crisis control around the world, mainly in the area of kidnappings and rescues,” Thompson says.
Thompson says his company has the connections and logistical knowledge that other companies don’t have. “It’s not complicated to get around in a personal plane, the right way, out of a country and back to the US, the UK or Germany or anywhere you are,” Thompson says.
“We have made evacuations outside Buenos Aires, for example, and we have called our contacts within the government to get the compulsory entry permits, because everyone wants a permit to move and the flights want a permit to land. They say, “Yes, you have to use one of the two COVID-approved ambulances to send the patients, and ready, bring them back to the United States so it’s not a challenge for Argentina,” Thompson says. In the meantime, the United States government can .’. to prevent you from entering the country as a U.S. citizen under a medical evacuation and repatriation law.”
Covac Global’s business plans can provide peace of mind to foreign corporations and NGOs as their painters repaint around the world.
