CHICAGO (CBS) – Illinois fitness officials say new knowledge that COVID-19 remedies are working.
New figures from the Illinois Department of Public Health show that COVID-19 treatments have prevented an additional 8,600 people from being hospitalized in the past four months.
The announcement comes as 68 Illinois counties have returned to the peak of COVID-19 transmission. The branch reported 19,933 new COVID-19 cases and 64 deaths from Friday, Sept. 2 through Friday, Sept. 9.
“The curative remedies available for COVID-19 are working,” Dr. Sameer Vohra, director of the IDPH, said in a press release. 19 of hospitalization and serious consequences.
