It is the first day of a five-day series of driving tests presented through the National Guard and Rock County Emergency Administration at Dawson Ball Fields, south of downtown.

The National Guard plans to continue monitoring from 11 a. m. to 7 p. m. and every day this week on the playing fields, city spokeswoman Maggie Darr said. The purpose is to control up to 500 more people each day, he said. I have 2, 500 checks to administer.

Darr, a verification coordinator, said mid-afternoon on Monday that National Guard officers had verified two hundred other people who had registered online in advance.

Additional cars covered amid the rain, wind and news President Donald Trump plans in Janesville this weekend.

Public testing opens at a time when positive instances of coronavirus are peaking in Rock County. Deaths, hospitalizations and new cases soared over the weekend in the county, and Wisconsin made national headlines for its sharp increase in some cases.

The tests guided Monday’s car line in circles around the barricades at baseball stadiums. Occasionally, cars have retreated many meters north along Beloit Avenue.

The National Guard showed the verification site and dates last week and opened the online registration over the weekend. A team of city officials, Rock County emergency control, and the county’s fitness branch helped the National Guard as dozens of people moved to the site each. and every hour.

Darr said that anyone can simply sign up for the tests in Dawson, the other people examined had no scheduled appointments. After the cars filled the parking lot for the monday maximum, Darr advised others to plan to wait in his car.

Tests are the typical type of nasal swab. Darr said other people’s primary purpose is to know if they are inflamed so they can stay home and isolate themselves.

Organizers expect others who think they have symptoms of COVID-19, in addition to coughing, fever, aches and headaches, to use the check this week.

“It’s open to everyone. I got a lot of calls from people, and this morning a woman added that said, ‘I need to stop by my mother in Minneapolis on Friday, and I need to make sure I don’t have COVID. Can I accept a check?” Yes, ” I said. She is an excellent example that we would rather take a check before potentially moving in to make a stopover with her family,” Darr said.

Two Spanish language interpreters worked on the verification site on Monday for others who had registered to browse a short aptitude questionnaire after their verifications.

It is not known when the state will deliver effects to those tested, however, a state Department of Health Services portal to register for testing indicates that the effects will be sent by email or SMS.

The fitness branch lists a hotline that other people can call if they haven’t had any effects in five days.
