Human trials of coronavirus vaccine in Iran begin: official

The first phase of the COVID-19 vaccine clinical trial is expected to begin in the next two weeks, Mohammad Mokhber, director of Imam Khomeini’s order execution headquarters, told reporters on Sunday.

The release of the vaccine test comes as Iran struggles to involve the new coronavirus.

Iranian Health Ministry spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari said Sunday that the total number of coronaviruses in the country had reached 326712, with more than 18,400 deaths.

“With 163 new deaths in the last 24 hours, the number of deaths from the virus has reached 18,427. Unfortunately, we’ve had 2,020 new instances since yesterday,” Lari said at his press conference.

It also put the number of people who have so far recovered from viral infection in 284,371.

The number of other people inflamed with international COVID-19 exceeded 19.8 million and the death toll exceeded 730,000.
