How is Covid-19 coronavirus spread? Here’s an update from the CDC

The CDC now says that if you have a mild to moderate Covid-19, stay away from others for at least 10 days after noticing the first symptoms. You can prevent this isolation after the 10-day mark if you have not had a fever for at least 24 hours and your other symptoms have improved. Keep in mind that you don’t have a fever because you’ve taken a fever medication like Tylenol doesn’t count. That would be cheating. The fever must have disappeared naturally. These updated rules are based on studies that suggest that the chances of locating a virus capable of replicating in airway samples are minimized over time after symptoms appear. In other words, their contagion would possibly minimize each day that it expands symptoms. In these studies, the researchers were unable to locate a virus that was competent for replication in patients with mild to moderate Covid-19 after 10 days from the first manifestation of their symptoms.

In a study published in MedRxiv that has not yet been peer-reviewed, researchers were to locate viruses that could be reflected 10 to 20 days after the onset of symptoms in patients with covid-19 severe.
