Initially, 500 volunteers from Abu Dhabi will be invited to participate, Abu Dhabi government media announced in a tweet.

Those who wish to enroll in vaccine trials can do so at www. v4v. ae.

“Your participation in this Phase III clinical study will make you a pioneer in the race to save not only the citizens of the United Arab Emirates, but all of humanity. The facilities you have provided to your country will be part of history and will guarantee the public the safe management of a studied pandemic,” the registration form says.

Those who enroll in the vaccine trial will have to provide detailed data on their physical condition, including their history of Covid-19 and other diseases.

Eligibility criteria to participate

Volunteers must be citizens of Abu Dhabi. They will have to be at least 18 years old and not have been infected with Covid-19 or have suffered from communicable or respiratory diseases in the last 14 days.

They must not have participated in any other Covid-19 vaccination trial.

Volunteers will receive two doses of vaccine, administered 20 days apart, and will be followed through visits and teleconsultations.

Second volunteer programme

This is the second such programme being conducted in Abu Dhabi. In July, the world’s first Phase III trials of an inactivated vaccine was held in the Capital.

The trials were controlled through G42 Healthcare in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Department of Health, the Ministry of Health and Prevention and the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha).

The inactivated vaccine evolved through Sinopharm CNBG.

The organizers of the trial said in a statement: “We invite you to make history in the momentous ‘Vaccine for Victory (V4V)’ campaign, which is the collapse in the United Arab Emirates of the global vaccination trial of the Sputnik V vaccine, developed through the Gamaleya National Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, in collaboration with the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).

Sputnik V, the human adenovirus vector vaccine, registered through the Russian Ministry of Health on August 11 and has become the first registered Covid-19 vaccine out of 165 vaccines in progress around the world.

“Thanks to their valuable input and the expertise of fitness professionals from the Gamaleya National Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention and the Abu Dhabi Ministry of Health, we will work together to embark on a life-saving initiative. Journey. journey for generations to come,” added the organizers of the trial.

“Our aim is simple: this vaccine is for the world and the V symbolises our mission to claim victory against the pandemic.”
