Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi suffered a groin injury during training, which could sideline him for up to a month.
The Nigerian foreigner has not been worried today at Crystal Palace, with Chris Wood being recruited up front from Steve Cooper in Awoniyi’s absence.
Awoniyi has become a key player since signing for £17m from Union Berlin in June 2022 and has scored in Forest’s first three Premier League games this season.
The 26-year-old Awoniyi scored ten goals last season as Forest worked their way up the defence on the most sensible of flights, after promotion to the league play-offs.

Virgil van Dijk is excited about the prospect of a revamped Liverpool.

Yves Bissouma will miss Tottenham Hotspur’s next game after being sent off from Luton Town.

Yves Bissouma will miss Tottenham Hotspur’s next game after receiving his fifth caution of the season.
In the Premier League, players who receive five yellow cards in the first part of the season (the first 19 matches) will receive a one-match suspension.
This prohibition is competition-specific, meaning it will have to be enforced in the league.
The next step is 10 cautions for the first 32 league matches of the Premier League season. If a player reaches twice as many yellow cards within this time, a two-match suspension will be imposed.

The hot topic this week in the Premier League has of course been last Saturday’s VAR error, which involved Liverpool’s Luis Diaz and a first-half goal against Tottenham Hotspur that was mistakenly disallowed.
The rhetoric has been varied, from calls to abandon VAR altogether to calls for more introspection and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s suggestion of a replay.
The error was so serious that it led Professional Match Game Officials Limited (PGMOL), the organisation guilty of referees and their assistants in England, to waive the culprits and take the unprecedented step of releasing the VAR audio relating to Diaz’s disallowed goal. PGMOL, along with the Premier League, has also committed to betting audio recordings of referees on the pitch and from VAR groups during the course of this season.

Bruno Guimaraes has signed a new five-year contract with Newcastle United.
The Brazilian foreigner signed for Lyon in January 2022 and has a key player in Eddie Howe’s squad.

777 Partners has pledged to “work tirelessly” to offer Everton the best in their club pass purchase plan.
Majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri last month signed a deal with the Miami-based securities company to sell his stake in the club.
The deal remains subject to regulatory approval from the Premier League, the Football Association and the Financial Conduct Authority.
Josh Wander and co-founder Steve Pasko travelled to Goodison Park at the weekend to attend the Premier League defeat to Luton Town.
Wander, writing to fans for the first time, vowed to do everything possible on and off the club’s pitch as long as the deal is closed.
“The opportunity to potentially acquire ownership of Everton Football Club is one of the most significant we will have, whether as investors or as individuals. We faced it knowing that we would fulfil the immense duty of 145 years of history and as a founding member of Everton Football Club and Premier League,” he wrote in a letter published on the club’s website.
“Today, football clubs are much more confusing businesses than ever, yet they remain important assets to the community. But there is an eternal truth: we have to win games.
