The number of new coronavirus cases in Texas increased by 1.65% or 8402 cases to succeed in 516686 cases in total, the largest increase in new cases since last Wednesday and the 20th for new cases since the onset of the pandemic. The state has added 239 new deaths and is now in 9,165 deaths in total. This is the eighth day of recently reported deaths.
The Houston domain recorded a 1.32% increase in the number of new instances and is now 124,272 instances in total. The death toll in the region has increased from 43 to 2,129. Harris County has reported 942 new cases and now has 87,505 cases in total.

In other headlines: Texas bar owners are struggling to get afloat amid state closing orders by calling local leaders on a call for help.
