Hope for Tivoli World: Foreigners “very interested” in reopening theme park as “main attraction” on Spain’s Costa del Sol

FOR 50 years, it was a must-see for any guest on the Spanish Costa del Sol. But the coronavirus pandemic forced Tivoli World to close in 2020, and since then the place has been languishing in something of a vacuum, with staff proceeding to paint there despite receiving payment, and no solution to the problem is in sight.

However, this could be about to change with the news coming from the Benalmadena City Council, where the park is located, that a foreign investor would be “very interested” in reactivating the commission and creating a “major attraction” in the market. place.

According to the urban councilor, Presi Aguilera, the city council is acting as an intermediary in the negotiations, as reported through the publication Área Costa del Sol.

The park was forced to close its doors in September 2020 when the coronavirus health crisis caused chaos in the tourism sector.

Since then, the municipality and park workers have been desperately looking for a solution to get the business back up and running.

“There is a foreign investor who is very interested,” said Aguilera in statements reported by Areas Costa del Sol. “That is why the Benalmádena city council has contacted the owner, the Tremon Real Estate Group, which acts as a link between the two to “We will see what we can do to facilitate the opening of the park. “

Aguilera also said the council has also held two meetings so far with the investor and hopes to hold a third soon, as well as an assembly with the park and legal representatives.

Aguilera added that the plans included the option of combining existing attractions with the purchase of groceries and dining spaces and even “a small hotel,” as had already been proposed several years ago.
