LSMS supports high-frequency longitudinal telephone surveys in Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Malawi, Nigeria, Tanzania and Uganda to monitor the regime and surprise responses and the socio-economic effects of surprises. Initially motivated by the COVID-19 pandemic, high-frequency telephone surveys were implemented in 2020 in low- and middle-income countries that had limited experience with data collection over the phone.
Based on two years of panel survey data, this article investigates the dynamics of vaccine uptake, its correlates, and hesitancy over time.
The LSMS, with investment from the U. S. Agency for International Development and the Global Finance Fund, and in collaboration with the World Bank’s Poverty and Equity (GP) Global Practice, provides monetary and technical assistance to high-frequency longitudinal surveys across Africa.
