High COVID-19 hospitalizations

Milwaukee County continues to record a large number of hospitalizations due to COVID-19.

Although hospitalizations have declined in recent weeks, the number of other people hospitalized with COVID-19 remains high. The number of adults hospitalized with COVID-19 has been more than 140 each week for about the past month.

Dr. Ben Weston, lead fitness policy advisor for Milwaukee County, said the increased number of hospitalizations is “a reminder that many other people in our network are still deeply affected by COVID. “He added that it remains vital to take precautions to oppose COVID-19.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently lowered Milwaukee County’s rating to an “average” disease burden point. But he had been at a “high” point of illness since mid-July.

The number of new COVID-19 cases began to rise last week and has yet to return to levels seen before the surge.

Last week, there were 1,060 new cases nationwide, up from 1234 the previous week, according to a report by epidemiologists, public fitness professors and the Medical College of Wisconsin and UW-Milwaukee.

Darren Rausch, director of Greenfield’s public health branch, works on the weekly report. He told colleagues in an email that published the report: “In line with last week, recent knowledge shows stabilization, but we remain at higher levels of transmission. “

There were two deaths last week due to COVID-19 and two the week before.

The positivity rate, which measures the percentage of tests that test positive for COVID-19, fell to 14. 2% last week from 15. 9% the previous week. Tests

The replica number for the county, which measures how many people, on average, are most likely to become inflamed with a single case of COVID-19, still involves delisting: 0. 904. If the number exceeds 1. 0, this would imply an expansion of the network propagation point.

The vaccination rate remains stagnant in the department. At the moment, the week in a row, the percentage of fully vaccinated county citizens is 60. 9 percent. The percentage of citizens eligible for a retirement who earned a higher one from 59. 1% to 59. 2%.
