(CBS DETROIT) – Free COVID tests are being introduced through the U. S. government. U. S.
This comes after Biden’s leadership donated $600 million to 12 national COVID-19 testing brands.
“Manufacturing COVID-19 tests in the United States strengthens our preparedness for the upcoming fall and winter seasons, reduces our dependence on other countries, and provides jobs for hardworking Americans,” Under Secretary for Preparedness and Response Dawn O’Connell said in “ASPR’s investments in those national brands will increase testing availability in the future. “
Starting Monday, September 25, each and every family will be required to take four free immediate COVID-19 tests.
The tests that will be sent are immediate home antigen tests, PCR tests and will give results in 30 minutes. Testing will stumble upon circulating variants of the coronavirus.
The FDA says the checks will be able to be used until the end of the year because of recently extended expiration dates. Check kits will come with quick commands to check the expiration date.
Health officials say false negatives can occur with at-home antigen tests and inspire others to repeat the tests after getting a negative result to make sure a user rarely becomes very inflamed with COVID-19 after the test.
To request free at-home COVID testing, visit COVIDTests. gov. People can also order at-home testing by calling 1-800-232-0233 or 1-888-720-7489 (TTY).
Proof will be sent by the U. S. Postal Service. They will begin shipping the week of October 2.
In addition to free at-home COVID-19 testing, fitness officials also recommend the new 2023 COVID-19 vaccine at six months of age or older after it is approved for use.
