Health measures followed at cemeteries and funerals

KOWEIT CITY, 19 September: After returning to life in general, the Kuwait Municipality Department of Funeral Affairs has established precautionary measures for mourners in cemeteries in accordance with the rules issued by the government of life-saving fitness and precautionary measures in terms of clothing and mask gloves and maintaining physical distance to prevent the spread of AL-Qabas COVID-19 reports on a daily basis.

Those who spend those days in cemeteries to participate in funeral processions or to stop at cemeteries have warned that the general public does not enforce the mandatory health measures regarding respecting physical distances and disguising themselves with masks. Furthermore, when the coffins are transported from the condolence room to the burial site, overcrowding has been observed.

The same is true when mourners line up to offer their condolences to the bereaved, a scene that lately runs counter to physical conditioning measures put in place by the fitness government to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

The opening of the funeral corridor to pray for the deceased and obtain condolences in cemeteries obliges the relevant officials of the Department of Funeral Affairs of the Municipality of Kuwait to reconsider and organize the procedure so that physical distance measures, dressed in mask and gloves and the status quo of the public interest can be respected.
