Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) said Sunday that she and Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden are not taking the option of Russian interference in the November election.
When asked about the intelligence bulletin published Friday through the Department of Homeland Security, he warns that Russia will “undermine public confidence in the electoral process” by issuing unfounded claims that ballots will lead to voter fraud, echoing President Trump’s unfounded claims about the factor.Harris told CNN that he had no doubts about the option of Russian interference impeding her and Biden the election.
Referring to how “clear” Russia intervened in the 2016 presidential election, Harris cited his position on the Senate Intelligence Committee and the panel’s detailed reports supporting his statement before proceeding to claim that Russia will “be on the front line.”interference in the 2020 elections.
When asked if Russian interference could lead to the defeat of the Biden-Harris crusade in November, Biden’s vice president said “in theory, of course he is.”
Harris went on to mention voter suppression, such as the 2013 Supreme Court ruling in Shelby County v. Holder, who said he had “drained” the voting rights law.
Harris also criticized Trump’s efforts to “convince” the electorate to distrust the integrity of the electoral formula and to “compromise their confidence that their vote can count.”
Harris added that she and Biden were “very realistic” about the fact that “there will be many obstacles that other people deliberately position before Americans’ ability to vote.”
“But we’re going to succeed and overcome obstacles,” Harris said.
