Hannan Metals Ltd. : Update on Hannan’s exploration of the Belen Cu-Au porphyry discovery in Peru

VANCOUVER, B. C. / ACCESSWIRE / October 11, 2022 / Hannan Metals Limited (“Hannan” or the “Company”) (TSXV:HAN)(OTC PINK:HANNF) is pleased to provide an update on Belen’s copper and gold porphyry prospectus at the one hundred percent ownership of the Valiente assignment in central Peru.

The Cu-Au porphyry of Bethlehem is located 19 km east of the canton of Tingo María in central Peru, in a mineralized belt of copper and epithermal porphyry gold from a Miocene age unknown in the past. The assignment is contained in a domain of 140 km across 50 km where the Hannan exploration team has known at least seven intrusion-related porphyry/epitherm/skarn targets, of which Bethlehem is the ultimate complex and is described here in more detail (Figure 1).

Michael Hudson, Chief Executive, said: “We are now beginning to consider the prospect of our pioneering merit in the new Miocene Age gold and copper ore camp on a 140 km to 50 km domain in Valiente. In Belgium, we see vast and systematic geochemical anomalies of soil and rock over 8 km with the appearance of two separate copper and gold porphyry targets across a gold epithermal target zone. What is encouraging at the peak is that more detailed paintings in Ricardo Herrera have highlighted the presence of porphyry outcrops of copper and gold leached mineralization with well-developed porphyry flavor weathering and quartz veins in upper topographic grades with evidence of a chalcocite canopy enriched in lower streams. This is the first discovery of the original bedrock in the Valiente project. Magnetic lift is a radical replacement for the project. It is also initiating painting work to begin obtaining drilling permits.  »

The Belén prospect, one hundred percent owned and explored through Hannan Metals Ltd. , is located 19 km east of the city of Tingo María in central Peru (Figure 1). The deposit site is characterized by a rugged topography on the eastern flank of the Cordillera Central with altitudes between 800 and 2000 m above the sea point (snm). The allocation was found in 2021 with an extensive virgin box exploration program initiated through Hannan.

Peru has been a primary producer of copper and gold since pre-colonial times. Currently known gold deposits include orogenic gold, Cu-Au porphyry, Au’s porphyry, transitional epithermal porphyry, epithermal and pleasure gold. The assignment of Bethlehem may also simply constitute a transitional porphyry-epithermal taste within valiente’s metallogenic belt recently discovered in the central-eastern Andes. de Alumbrera in Argentina. Se interprets that Valiente was formed in a tectonically favorable zone relevant with a system of arcoblique faults, which possibly would have favored the rise of magmas similar to the oceanic arc in the zone of movement towards the interior of the magmatic arc.

Copper and gold porphyry Ricardo Herrera

In Bethlehem a porphyry-bound mineral formula of copper-gold and epithermal gold was known in a trend of 8 km to 2 km (Figures 2-4). Recent detailed fieldwork has identified a porphyry copper-gold leachate with well-developed quartz veins in Bethlehem. higher topographic grades and evidence of enriched calcite canopy sampled along 1 km in streams under the Ricardo Herrera copper and gold porphyry target. This coincides with a highly anomalous Cu-Au-Mo soil anomaly, first reported here, over a domain across 800 m over a radiometrically mapped and dated porphyry intrusion.

Ricardo Herrera’s porphyry inventory has been subject to intrusion into several stages, regularly called early, intermineral and expired, all interpreted in a short interval of time. porphyries of andesitic composition. The intrusions caused touch metamorphism and hydrothermal alteration that partially erased the original texture and composition of the surrounding sedimentary rocks. Two ancient porphyries are identified. The first is an intermediate argillic (white mica chlorite-momentary biotite) with potassium decomposition relics (momentary biotite-magnetite) with “EB” type venules (ancient biotite), M-type venules (magnetite) and some type A (quartz) venules. The time of early porphyry intrusion is characterized by type A venules, jarosite-goethite iron oxide venules with phylic alteration (white sericity-quartz), argillic alteration (kaolinite). , epidote).

In the porphyry copper systems, the domain with the highest copper content corresponds to the first porphyries. Therefore, the goal of the detailed geological mapping was to identify this domain and model it with systematic rock sampling. Testing of these paints is pending.

At Herrera, the combined early hornblende feldspar porphyry covers at least one domain of 850 m x 250 m at the surface. But limited exposures, which are usually not limited to infrequent streams and outcrops, make it difficult to delineate true dominance. Copper ores Those observed come with mineralization of pyrite, chalcopyrite, chalcocite, molybdenite, neotocite and chrysocolla. and pyritization by replacing secondary biotite.

At this initial level of exploration of the Ricardo Herrera porphyry target, early porphyry occupies an area of 0. 21 km2, which is comparable to the 22. 37 Moz La Colosa gold deposit in Colombia, where early diorite porphyry occupies an area of 0. 35 km2.

The furrow sampling at Ricardo Herrera focused on streams where outcrops are good. In many places, access is a restrictive thing in what can be sampled. To date, maximum channels have been collected from peripheral spaces to what is interpreted as the core of the formula. (Figure 3). The results of 34 individual channels come with five m @ 0. 11% Cu and five ppm MB. This channel is open on either side and arises from highly leached and altered exposure of early porphyry diorite. Fractures are rich in jarosite and goethite after pyrite and chalcopyrite (Figure 3). It is important to note that the most productive and highest effects were received from early porphyry leachate. The effects are also low in manganese and are interpreted as representative of a leachate porphyry formula. Channel sampling continues.

Epithermal White Gold Vista Alegre

Vista Alegre is composed of an epithermal gold target known through giant blocks of mineralized quartz-pyrite gold and iron oxides. Highly anomalous gold soil samples were found 2. 5 km northwest of Ricardo Herrera (originally reported here). Sampling between layers at 25 m x 25 m on the lens has now begun.

Previous paintings have included:

Witchcraft

Recent fieldwork, reported here, on the Sortilegio porphyry target has indicated the presence of a momentary giant-scale copper-gold porphyry in Bethlehem, located 7 km northwest of Ricardo Herrera. biotite) and intermediate argillic alteration (chlorite-magnetite) in disseminated chalcopyrite, with lines of bornite and chalcocite. The discovery coincides with a giant copper floor anomaly where sampling of the reconnaissance soil ridge line ended with a sampling spacing of two hundred m and an abnormal spacing of lines of 400 to 500 m (Figure 4). The block has a law of 0. 41% Cu and 0. 16 g/t Au and is interpreted to represent the core of a porphyry system.

History of the discovery of Valiente

In 1984, Ingemmet, the Geological Survey of Peru, mapped the central component of the Cordillera Central in the Huánuco and Ucayali decomponents. The domain was explored sporadically in the 1990s through Gitennes, Newcrest, BHP, WMC and others, still recorded are scarce. At the time, access to the domain was limited due to unpredictable security situations and poor infrastructure.

From 2020 to 2021, Hannan introduced a virgin box exploration program for porphyry and epithermal gold deposits in the upper jungle spaces of Peru’s Cordillera Oriental, which included regional database compilation, target generation, and box mapping. Hannan also performed regional sediment sampling (fine clay fraction). The generation of objectives made imaginable the delimitation of a prospective area, one of which was the Valiente block located on the eastern flank of the Cordillera Central, department of Ucayali.

In 2022, box paintings began in the Bethlehem region, which accounts for a small proportion (4%) of Hannan’s total land ownership in Brave. In this area, several geochemical anomalies have been found, with porphyry blocks of diorite containing quartz sulfide and magnetite venules. Subsequent mapping, sampling of soils and rocks in Bethlehem during the more than two months known weathering and porphyry-like venules.

Social and field groups are actively involved in the region, with Hannan’s policy of undertaking exploration activities only in spaces where there is full involvement of local stakeholders.

Technical expertise

All patterns were taken through Hannan’s geologists. The skippers were transported to ALS in Lima via traceable packages from third-party facilities. In the laboratory, the rock patterns were ready and folk methods were analyzed. fast division of 250 g, separation by spray to more than 85% expanding to 75 microns. The patterns were analyzed through the ME-MS61 method, a four-acid digestion performed on 0. 25 g of the pattern to quantitatively dissolve the maximum of geological materials. Research is conducted through ICP-MS. Grooved patterns are thought to be in situ mineralization patterns and the pattern widths quoted approximate the actual width of mineralization, while point patterns are selective in nature and unlikely to constitute average property laws. Gold was analyzed through ALS in Lima a popular preparation pattern and a pyroresearch standard load of 25 g.

All soil patterns were collected through Hannan geologists using an internal soil sampling protocol in jungle areas. The patterns were then analyzed with a portable XRF (“pXRF”) implementing a protocol developed through Hannan for the San Martin project. The approach is designed to minimize the threat of contamination and soil disturbance. In maximum cases, the sampling medium is the “horizon B” of the soil profile. Only one hundred g of patterns are taken from each site. From the soil pattern, a granule is produced that is dried and analyzed through a pXRF. Certified reference material, blanks and duplicate boxes are added to monitor the quality of pXRF knowledge and 10% of all patterns undergo an ALS in Lima to validate pXRF knowledge. Gold was analyzed through ALS in Lima using the popular standard preparation and a pyroassay pattern load of 25 g.
