Hamas announced earlier this month that foreign mediators had negotiated a new “agreements” with Israel, stopping for the time being the most recent struggle in exchange for a loosening of Israeli restrictions on the Gaza Strip.
The announcement follows a declining escalation of violence in recent weeks, in which Hamas-affiliated teams introduced incendiary balloons and short-range rockets into Israel, and Israeli warplanes attacked Gaza Strip spaces.
